Therapeutic Counsellor

Hello,

My name is Siobhan and I qualified as a counsellor (Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy) 5 years ago.  I work relationally, which means I focus on building trust, positive and healthy relationships as well as putting the young person at the heart of the sessions, giving them choice and empowering them. Sessions are flexible and can involve a variation of therapeutic activities.

Since I qualified, I have worked for Just B, an organisation who supports children and young people experiencing difficulties with their wellbeing, metal health and bereavement. I have 7 years of experience working in primary and secondary schools and I’m really looking forward to becoming part of Springwell in September. I’ll be at each site one day a week working with young people on a 1-1 basis as well as looking into delivering some group sessions.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, I love to cook, going out walking and being organised. I am currently renovating my house, which keeps me busy at weekends!

If you see me around school, please say hi or pop in for a chat. I can’t wait to get to know you all.

Siobhan
