Statement Re: Accident on Stonegate Road on 25/11/17

It was with deep sadness that we learned of the tragic news of a road traffic accident on Stonegate Road which led to the death of five people – two of them, Ellis and Elliott Thornton-Kimmitt, students at our school.

Our first thoughts must be with Ellis and Elliott’s family and we send them our deepest sympathy at this unimaginably difficult time.

Our whole school – both students and staff – are shocked and devastated at this news.

Over the coming days and weeks we will continue to work closely with our students and staff to support them in their grief and we are very grateful for the help and support of our colleagues from Leeds City Council and the Wellspring Trust to do this.

In the meantime I would like to thank the local community and those further afield for the messages of support and condolence we have received and finally ask that we all respect the privacy of Ellis and Elliott’s family and our school community at this very difficult and sad time.
